Friday, July 27, 2018 Kidz World was visited by Blue Moon Stables who brought in mini-horses Rocky and Tater Tot. Children ages 1-12 got to spend time with the horses, pet them, and learn about them. The children had an absolute blast. Rocky and Tater Tot were well-behaved and gentle horses. The Blue Moon staff talked with the children and helped them to become more at ease. It was truly a blessing to have them visit with the mini's.

Kidz World – 2017 Our Year in Review
“In the New Year, never forget to thank your past years because they enabled you to reach today! Without the stairs of the past, you cannot arrive at the future!” ― Mehmet Murat ildan
What a wonderful year we had in 2017! Our lives were enriched by the many beautiful smiles that light our world every day. We watch and admire as the children grow and learn. It truly is amazing to be a part of so many children’s lives every day.
It seems like life just flies right by sometimes, we wanted to slow things down and thank our families and friends for making 2017 great for Kidz World. Please join as us we travel back through 2017 to see some of the fun we got we experience.
Look how they’ve grown!
“Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365-page book. Write a good one.” ― Brad Paisley
We kicked off the year's festivities in January with Polar Express Day in pajama’s! What’s more fun and relaxing than that? And let’s not forget the art projects we did for MLK Jr. Day!
February allowed us to share the love with our Valentine’s party.
And, we even got in some playground renovation!
February 25th the Kidz World Website went live! Oh, what a great day!! Within 20 minutes we had over 200 hits and now, 10 short months later, we have had nearly 19,000 views from all over the world!
In March, in celebration of Literacy and Dr. Seuss’ birthday, we partnered with the Earle C. Clements Job Corp Center, and their students came to read to our students. It was a great day!
April caught us feasting with friends and family at Tumbleweed for Kidz World Day, holding parent/teacher conferences, and having a blast with Easter! Naturalists from John James Audubon State Park came to visit with some creepy crawlies for us to learn about and SWAT Pest who brought the real creepy crawlies… the Tarantulas.
We kicked off May with Teacher’s Appreciation Week. The teachers received nice little gifts from management and parents all week. We can’t thank our teachers enough for their tireless work and focused energy! Bless you, all! Also in May, the Kentucky State Police visited Kidz World to conduct a child seat safety inspection. Thank goodness for anyone that helps us keep our babies safe! The big-ticket item for May was preschool graduation! Oh, what a fine crew we had to graduate! We wish them much success in their school years ahead!
In June, with the help of Literacy Specialist, Sarah Hambidge, we implemented the Bright Kidz Summer Reading Readiness Program. We also introduced students to the TBJELC summer reading program, were visited by Mesker Park Zoo’s Jump and Jive Program, our summer gymnastics & tumbling program, Audubon Park Naturalists brought Owlivia to visit, and Scooby dropped in for a visit. What an exciting month, so many wonderful visitor's!!!
July, we had so much fun with Yoga Alternatives and Henderson Martial Arts! Training with focus on mind over body! Awesome! We also took the opportunity to get our mass text and email programs up and running to make communication more convenient for staff and parents. We hope you enjoy reading our monthly newsletters. We had the wonderful opportunity of setting up a booth at the Henderson Back to School Readifest where we gave away a lot of school supplies to many children. And lastly, in July, we were visited by Hillcrest Basket’s and Greenhouse who brought in farm animals for us to love on, including Jolene the goat.
August started with a creative brushstroke with Audubon Artists. The children loved creating art, painting such beautiful pictures. We won the bid on some great new playground equipment. We absolutely loved seeing the children all dressed up for our first Divas & GQ day. We gave away tickets to the Evansville Otters game during Sports Mania Week. Our teachers came in all dressed up and looking awesome on a Saturday for a successful Open House. We started our partnership with TBJELC and had our first visit from Ms. Kelsie. We ran a Kidz World ad campaign on WSON. Lastly, in August, we reached out to help Texas after the hurricanes by collecting much-needed items and transporting them to the affected areas.
In September, we had a phenomenally successful Picture Day fundraiser. All the children did such a wonderful job with poses and good behavior during the shoots. The pictures were wonderful!
The fun didn’t stop in October! World-renowned Author/Storyteller, Mary Jo Huff, visited Kidz World. We laughed, we sang, we danced, and very much enjoyed her stories and puppet work. We had Mad Science Week and performed so many fun and exciting experiments! We had Kidz World Day at Cates Farm & Maze. Parent/Teacher conferences went great! And lastly, we closed out the month with a super sweet Halloween party.
November was truly a giving month as Kidz World held a canned food drive in support of the Corydon Food Pantry. It was a huge success thanks to all the parents, staff, and friends that contributed! We held a Thanksgiving luncheon for our parents and an absolutely fabulous GrandArt Day to celebrate our grandparents! Kidz World and President, Tamika Johnson were honored to be featured in the Henderson Family Magazine. What an event-filled month!
Which brings us finally to December! The pace has not slowed any for us. We like to keep things lively and fun for the children. We participated in the parade and downtown tree lighting ceremony. We had a fantastic Christmas party and the children were surprised and excited when Santa dropped in for a nice visit.
These things listed here are just the icing on the cake of fun activities we had in 2017. These on top of the many fun dress-up days, non-traditional holiday’s such as National Fortune Cookie Day, birthday celebrations, and just FUN all around!
As we reflect back on 2017, sometimes as a human being, we tend to think about the coulda, shouldas, and wouldas. Let’s not do that this year! Let’s look at all the great accomplishments we have made over the past 365 days… see where we were and how far we came. Rejoice in all the great things that happened and resolve to make 2018 an even better year.
“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something.
So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life. Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever.” ― Neil Gaiman
The staff of Kidz World with you all a happy and peace-filled 2018!
